Easter Stories

[This is copied from another blog before Easter (and now it's well after Easter).  Sorry for any confusion.]  With Easter two weeks away, I thougt it would be interesting if we shared our Easter stories.

[My Story]
We do celebrate Easter every year but my sons are not exposed to Jesus resurrection stories and neither did they ever believe in the Easter Bunny.  However, we do have a family Easter egg hunt every year.  A few people are sent over the hill to hide the eggs and the others (children and adults alike) try to find them.  Some of the eggs are real and colored and others are plastic eggs stuffed with candy, money, or toys.  Nobody pretends that a giant bunny hid the eggs and nobody preaches about dead man-gods rising from the dead.

This almost always happens on the Navajo Reservation and when we are there, we also butcher a sheep, eat potluck, and play Bingo for donated prizes.  This might seem like a strange "tradition" but this is what our families have done for nearly two decades and I must admit, it feels quite comfortable to us.
